As an experienced Personal Trainer, I know that finding a comfortable environment for exercise is critical to my clients success. For this reason I offer workouts in a range of places:
Your home (in person)
Group fitness
Outside
Longhill Sports Centre gym
Peacehaven golf course gym
Online via Zoom to your home or place of work
Here is Pete who chooses to train at Rottingdean Recreation Ground. Pete lives locally and like to be outside in the early mornings- so the rec was a good choice for him. He is working with a ball, slamming the ball to the ground. The medicine ball slam is done for developing power, strength, speed and cardio vascular conditioning.
This exercise also works the following muscles:
Triceps (back of the arm)
Abdomen (trunk muscles)
Shoulders (you know where they are!)
Calves (posterior lower leg)
Back (you know where that is!)
Glutes (your backside :-D)
Quads (front upper thigh)
“Slam ball” increases heartbeat and burns a good number of calories. Also pictured is a battle rope. Battle ropes are a versatile piece of kit, which when used correctly will provide a full body workout.
We know that our clients all have individual needs and aspirations. For this reason, particularly in Spring and Summer outdoor sessions fit the bill. Think of all that vitamin D :-) Rottingdean Recreation ground is an excellent place to workout and even has some gentle hills for cardiovascular conditioning.
If you prefer to workout in a group, why not join us on Tuesday evenings at the Whiteway Centre, where I deliver a Trigger Point Pilates™ (6pm) and a Boxercise™ class 7pm. If you would like to find out more about this type of Pilates here is a link to my recent blog: https://www.threepillarsoffitness.com/blog/2018/12/11/c8ny6ou6is4qdo7myuzi7nost75fyr or if you prefer, you can find out more about Boxercise™ here: https://www.threepillarsoffitness.com/about-group-fitness.
Other reasons to workout in a group class include:
Comradery:
One of my main passions as a Personal Trainer is to create small communities of people who exercise together. I bring my groups together using fitness games and there’s no winner or loser, we do it for the fun :-)
Motivation:
Being with other people who want to achieve similar things also creates motivation. Having a workout buddy is hugely beneficial to ensure that you get as much out of your group session as possible. Want to bring a guest? No problem, their first class is complimentary.
Increased confidence in a group:
Communication, trust and friendship, all of those things are benefits of working together with us in a small group fitness session.
